Alternative Medicine: Bathing With Ginger Spice

Bathing with ginger is an excellent herbal medicine and therapy. Whether you have the aches and pains of arthritis, headache, cold and flu, lack of energy from parasites and toxins, or stomach discomfort from ulcers or menstrual pain, ginger can help. Ginger has many of the same effects of aspirin without the side effects of aspirin. Using the root of fresh ginger or powder ginger, the results can be wonderful. Below are the directions on how to use ginger while bathing.

-Use one to two tablespoons of high quality powdered ginger. This can be purchased at most health food stores. Powdered ginger is the most concentrated form of ginger because the moisture has been removed, leaving the ginger in its fullest strength form. The temperature of the water should be warm to almost hot. Be careful not to get the water so hot that you burn yourself. Not only will be bath help relieve the symptoms of various ailments; it is a wonderful aroma therapy and antioxidant.

-After bathing be sure to stay warm for one to two hours. Do not become chilled after your bath. Because ginger is a high antioxidant, you may experience a higher amount of elimination. Ginger raises the bodies’ temperature to rid itself of toxins; therefore you may also perspire more heavily. Don't worry, this is normal and positive. When you are first beginning with ginger, use one tablespoon. It is best to work up to a higher amount as your body becomes use to it.

Ginger And Honey Syrup Recipe: Great Alternative Medicine

In addition to the ginger-and honey combination, a health tonic or cough/cold syrup, ginger-and-honey can be used as a hot beverage or tea sweetener, cooking seasoning or table sauce, dessert topping or mixed with carbonated water to create a delicious homemade ginger ale.

To produce your own ginger syrup, add one part of fresh ginger (the root), grated or juiced, to three parts of honey and refrigerate (be sure to peel the ginger rhizome to extend its values and prevent fermentation.) Generally one to two teaspoons will be appropriate per 8 oz’s. of carbonated or hot water.

Boutique A Success: Thank You To Our Customers And Vendors

Last week Terri’s Blue Goose Boutique, held their annual Mother’s Day Boutique. Thanks to all of our wonderful vendors who put so much time and effort into their booths, it was a great success.! We appreciate the creativity and expertise of the many entrepreneurs who make up our Mother’s Day show business owners. They continue to amaze and inspire me.

We also want to thank our thousands of loyal customers who attend our three shows each year.
